Highlights of Trieste

We are staying at the Best Western Hotel San Giusto Triest. It´s a bit outside of the centre, but the walk to the sea will only be around 25 minutes.

The breakfast at the hotel is really great, it´s buffet style and has a lot of different things to offer. It was not included in our booking, but it was only 3€ per day per person. A good price for what it had to offer.

After we filled our stomachs to the rim 🙂 we went out to explore the city. Trieste is a really hilly city. A lot of steps and steep roads.

We ate some not so great noodles in the city centre, used a toilet without a lock (for the daily adrenaline kick ;)) and just walked around discovering nice corners.

In the evening, at around 23:30 o´clock we went to the harbour to watch the annual fireworks. In Italy the 15th of August is one of the holiest days, it´s called Ferragosto and they celebrate it with live music and fireworks.

The people of trieste are nice, but they don´t really like the english language. This whole trip we met 3 people who answered in english, the rest talked to us in italian. We always got what we ordered, but we had no idea what else they were asking us 🙂
