We got to Koh Pangan through Koh Samui by ferry. In Thailand you shouldn´t expect anything to arrive on schedule. Our ferry left half an hour before the scheduled departure time.
The ride was around an hour, our booked driver did not show up, so we took a taxi for ~600 Baht (~18€). It was a hell of a ride to our hotel – hilly and steep and too much speed for such roads, but we sort of survived. My cousin got a bit sick during the ride.
Let´s just say, we were really happy to get out of the car 😀
We stayed at the Sarikantang Koh Pangan Resort & Spa for four days. A really beautiful hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful at all times, the food was spectacular and our room really cosy. At first I had to get used to the gecko in our room, but after that, I really loved this place. We got a small balcony/terrace and we needed like 5 minutes to get to the beach and the pool.
I loved this beach. The whole time we spent at the resort we saw maybe 10 people on the beach and in the water.
The breakfast at this place was mindblowing, so much food 🙂 traditional thai food as well and of course we tasted it – yammi.
We did explore the little town next to our resort: Haad R. This town is popular for the Full Moon Party every month on Sunrise Beach. We hadn´t had the chance to be there to see the Full Moon Party, instead we got a massage – a really fun and painful one 😀 They used there hands, feet!! and knees!! to knead our body from head to toe. It was great, we all laughted a lot.
To the main thing: the FOOD 🙂 most of it was really really good and not as spicy as I feared. fried rice with shrimp in a pineapple, thai soup, pad thai, vegetables with meat, curry with pineapple and shrimp, papaya salad (really spicy) and mango with sticky rice (a national dish) accompanied by lime & soda or a beer-lemonade mix 🙂 I fell in love with thai food instantly.
