Cambodia

Officially called the Kingdom of Cambodia, it is located in south-east asia enclosed by Thailand in the west, Laos in the north, Vietnam in the east and the Gulf of Thailand in the south.

The capital of Cambodia is Phnom Penh, located in the south-east of the country. The country is 181,035 square kilometres in area, from which 5% are taken by it´s biggest lake – Tonle Sap.

Cambodia has a population of approximately 15 Million, 90% of which are Khmer, the rest mainly Vietnamese and Chinese. The state religion is Theravada-Buddism.

The histroy of Cambodia is a long and bloody one, it´s impacts still noticeably today. If you wanna know more about it´s history take a look here.

Places to see in Cambodia: of course the famous temple complex of Angkor Wat, the capitol Phnom Penh, killing fields around the country, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and many many more.

So far we´ve only been to Siem Reap and Angkor, but we will definitly come back to see more of this beautiful country.
