Chiang Mai – part 1

We LOVE our new hotel, the Somwang Boutique House. Our room is great, the shower doesn’t drench our whole toilet and the best part: it’s in a quiet street with no karaoke bar right next to it so we were able to sleep really good for the first time in days 🙃

Our first adventure in chiang mai was a cooking class at „baan farm thai cooking school“ including five dishes and grocery shopping at a local market. The farm is located on the outskirts of chiang mai, so we got to see a bit of the sourrounding area. We had a lot of fun preparing our dishes, were dancing to bruno mars while cooking green curry and pad thai, fed some fish and did some gardening.

tried a weird looking blue drink which turns into a violet one, if you add lime. We liked it 😄

We spent a few hours exploring the religious side of chiang mai and visited „wat phra sing“ and „wat phantao“.

There is a really big night bazaar in chiang mai where you can find anything from clothes, to souvenirs, electric stuff, soaps, sunglasses and much much more. But the greatest thing at the bazaar is the food market. It’s not the typical thai food market, it’s a hipster food market with dishes from all over the world and great live music.

Besides eating all the time, we love to get massages 💆‍♀️ Sometimes everyday, sometimes every second day. And the most bonding thing we do after our treatment: we talk about the level of pain we just went through (of course again, it’s the good pain we are talking about here 💜)

After one of our massages we wanted to get a little girly, tried out a nailsalon and got our nails done.

And here are a few more images of the city:
